MICRODERMABRASION
Particle Skin Resurfacingtm
A New Science in Skin Care has arrived!

Microdermabrasion or Particle Skin Resurfacing is a system that allows a jet of inert, natural, mineral crystals (Corundum Powder) to be brushed onto the surface of the skin where it abrades dry, dead or redundant cell tissue with little trauma, but with high precision which had therefore been unattainable with other techniques.

Patient Information

American men and women have always wanted an alternative to either chemical or laser peels. While they desired smoother younger looking skin, they were not willing to endure a painful procedure, or long periods of recuperation.

The FDA cleared for sale the PSR (Particle Skin Resurfacingsm) procedure in 1997. After almost nine years of successfully treating Europeans for a number of skin conditions and literally hundreds of thousands of satisfied patients, it is finally available to the rest of the world.

Particle Skin Resurfacingsm procedure is performed under the care and supervision of your physician. You may have complete confidence in the procedure, because it is non-invasive and non-surgical. A normal procedure should take 30-40 minutes, depending upon the skin condition, the area to be treated and the desired outcome. Patients should notice immediate improvement in the texture and appearance of their skin after the first treatment. The average patient requires between 5-9 treatments, spaced about one week apart.

Chemical peeling and manual dermabrasion are the traditional techniques for the treatments of a range of skin abnormalities. There are restrictions and difficulties associated with these common procedures since they can be painful and rapid re-treatment is not always possible. Particle Skin Resurfacingsm (microdermabrasion) is not painful and does not require pre-treatment or topical anesthesia. The real benefit is that after treatment, you are able to leave the clinic with a clean and fresh sparking tone: a regeneration of the epidermal cell structure. Your safety is an important issue, therefore the entire treatment is performed in a sterile environment. All tools that contact the treatment area are either sterilized or disposable.

How it Works

Particle Skin Resurfacingsm is achieved using a highly controlled spray of fine aluminum oxide crystals, (one hundred microns in size), under pressure and vacuum. These crystals literally "erase" the imperfections and sun damage, without damaging the skin’s integrity. The result: a smoother, more youthful appearance.

The Particle Skin Resurfacingsm procedure acts to remove the outer layer of skin in a highly controlled manner. Because of its preciseness, it is virtually painless. This process when repeated multiple times, allows the younger softer skin to move to the surface, promoting discernable changes in texture, color and appearance.

What to Expect After Treatment

ball Skin Peeling
